I thought we should have a bit of fun this week to make Sheldon feel welcome. Trolling through the old youtube vault, I came across this devilishly quick Alfa 90. I presume the speed run is in a controlled environment.. Listen to the sweet sound that only an Alfa V6 can make as this 90 goes through a series of opponents before displaying its maximum speed.

Nice one! I know this video well, and have chatted to the owner over the net (or it could have been a hot 18 year old cheerleader pretending…). It’s only fair to point out that this car is not exactly standard….
Beautiful sound! I’m interested in how ‘not exactly standard’ this car is…250km/h with a severe lack of aerodynamics makes the owner a very brave man! (or cheerleader!!)
The specs from the horses mouth…
“Alfa 90QV, 164QV 3.0 engine transplant with following mods: DTA Fast engine managent, Velocity stacks, open throttle bodies, Tarox break discs, Sachs double disc racing clutch, cams ENEM, higher compression, racing exhaust, zagato exhaust manifold, forged pistons, engine balancement + reinforcement (rods ,pistons, etc), TS gearbox
adjusted camber, torsion sticks (27mm), bilstein gas dampers, springs, modified de dion axle…”
What do you mean “lack of aerodynamics”? You know the 90 has a speed-related front spoiler, and that high-downforce wedgey styling? But yeah, 250km/h would be scary in one, I must admit.
I thought for a second that Sheldon must have written that comment after a few bevvies…but then remembered the guy he was quoting was not from these shores!
It must have a fair amount of stomp- it may not produce lift but it’s shaped like a brick!
