It was the sound that captured me, snorting 40mm Webers grabbing at air as they competed with an exhaust blare that could only come from a classic Italian twin-cam 4. Or was it the steering? Each nuance of road tingling fingertips as untainted feel reached the gorgeous wood-rim steering wheel unfiltered. All logic escaped my mind with an involuntary swipe of the pocket; I was handing over a cheque for a vehicle I had waited years to taste- an Alfa Romeo 105 coupe. A true case of love at first sight!

It is feelings like these that are the essence of what l’autista is about- we want to capture this base passion, one that burns familiar in every motoring enthusiast, and distil it into entertaining feature articles for you, the reader.

Here at lautista.com.au we aim to provide insightful coverage of motoring topics old, new and still to be, with an Australian emphasis. Our features are plucked from all corners of the motoring globe- our focus being to  review and compare cars that appeal primarily to drivers, from one of the latest sporting Audis to the timelessly elegant lines of a DB-series Aston Martin. Regular news items are also broad in scope; the latest sports cars will share space with Australian ‘grassroots’, rally and historic racing reviews along with regular analysis of the classic motoring market.
